This is a close-up picture of the inside of a clock. I bought it an antique store with the original intention of disassembling it to make something steampunk, but liked it so much, I decided to leave it together.
steampunk is kind of a subculture that takes elements of the victorian time period and technology of that time era as well, and combines them with both modern things and what not. It's very interesting. Here's the wikipedia page about it:
I had never heard of the word horology before, but I looked it up. That's really cool. It never occurred to me before that there must be a study/art of keeping time.
